Fair enough. I have heard some questionable things about you Gryffindors. Not to be rude, simply passing along information. I recall an instance whereupon my breakfast food would run away from me singing on a particular morning. And the same evening when all of my drinks had tasted of quill ink.

I do not -nor have I ever- condone the actions of certain Gryffindor’s who shall remain nameless -though I’m sure we all know who they are.

Mary made a face “If I had a nickle for every time someone said that to me I would be rich.” she replied more to herself then anything. Her foul mood returned. “Slughorn is the worst, cruelest most horrific professor in this place.” she ranted, her voice rising again. “Do you think I care that I’m practically failing his class? No. So he can bloody well lay off then. Blundering moron. Like he knows anymore about the subject then me.” she crossed her arms, scowling down at her potions book. “Useless course anyway.”

“Certainly if it’s that difficult, you would have no trouble finding someone to tutor you. I bet your Gryffindor pals wouldn’t mind.” Severus couldn’t help but be a little scathing, what with the way she was talking about his favourite subject as “useless”.

Now he could remember another place he’d seen her, not much to her benefit; along with Potter and the lot, he was sure she’d been out there on the pitch with them. He’d like to see how useless she thought it was when she’d run out of precious healing potions after a rough game of Quidditch.

Though, he had to admit she was right about Slughorn. The man, not the course as she had mentioned, was the useless one. It was obvious he worked straight from the textbook with no knowledge of his own. Anyone with half a brain could be better at the subject than him.

Mary scowled at him, “Lily has tried but I’m pretty useless.” she shrugged “Besides it’s not like I really need it for anything…except to pass the year and stay on the team.” she made a face “Apperently you have to have at least an A in all of your courses to be allowed to play on the team. An E if you want to do it professionally. I don’t know why.”

I don’t need to think. I know. 

You know, I can’t help but feel your constantly trying to reassure yourself of your abilities. 

I am fully aware of how amazing my abilities are, Tonks. You’re the one that seems determined to make yourself seem better by attacking my obvious skill. 

Except I’m not the one trying to reaffirm my team talent. I know they’re good. I don’t have to shove it down everyone’s throat any chance I get.
